Max Cade (December 3, 1918 -28 March 1985) a British scientist, was introduced to meditation and other eastern techniques by his father.

At 12 years of age he was introduced to the practice of Judo, Kendo, Zen and other esoteric by a Japanese friend (Rio Shimizu). In 1934 he was introduced to the Budokwai Centre in London.

He gained a black belt in Judo, and the spiritual aspects of martial arts interested him greatly.

The Budokwai and its masters became a very important influence on Max Cade.

When he finished his career in radiation physics for the government he undertook pioneering research with Dr Ann Woolley-Hart (a medical specialist) into brainwave patterns and consciousness.

He brought together the insights of Zen Buddhism and western science.

Max Cade together with Geoffrey Blundell, an electronics engineer, developed biofeedback machines,This allowed people who attended his courses to learn about their own physiological responses.

Max's work and research into brain rhythms of yogis, swamis, zen Buddhist, and others who are able to reach high levels of mental performance, is the most enlightening work done on the mind/body relationship.
